We chose CRSI based on several factors: (1) They have been in business since 1985, indicating that they not only know how to run a successful operation, but how to keep it that way. (2) Over 99% of the reviews had an “A” rating with no “D” or “F” ratings, showing that their work quality was top notch with no disappointed customers. (3) There were lots of reviews, which told us that many people had utilized their services and CRSI was able to consistently deliver top quality work. (4) Lastly, in addition to the painting we needed, they were also able to install new seamless gutters, meaning that we didn’t have to coordinate work between two different companies to complete these 2 projects.
Once we contacted CRSI for an estimate, owner Matt McCurdy came by to assess the project and gave a very detailed estimate. This included pressure washing, surface preparation (caulk, putty, sanding, priming, etc.), a list of all the particular pieces of molding and fascia board that needed to be replaced and a list of all house and fence items that were to be spot primed and painted. Matt’s painting team arrived promptly each day and worked very hard throughout the duration of the project.
Their attention to detail, especially during the preparation and wood replacement phase, was very much appreciated. The painting job was excellent and the house looks great. We were out of town for a day early in the project and Matt was able to schedule around us so we could be present to open windows as needed. Immediately after the painting phase was completed, the gutter installation team arrived to install seamless gutters fabricated on site. We appreciated Matt’s coordination in scheduling these two teams, minimizing the time the house was without gutters. The gutter installation team also did a great job and the finished product is much better than what the house originally had.
After the painting was completed and the gutters installed, Matt came by for a final inspection. He noted some areas that needed touch up, but these were minimal. The team finished the touch up the next day and we now have a professional looking house once again. We were very pleased with CRSI and each of their employees that we dealt with. All were very courteous, hardworking and a pleasure to work with. They all take pride in their work and the finished result is evidence of that. We would gladly recommend CRSI to anyone that needs painting or new gutters.”

“My house had not been painted since 2008. It not only needed new paint but also a number of fixes including rotten wood in areas such as the soffits and all along a large bay window. After doing a lot of research to find just the right company to work with me to bring my house back to life, I landed on CRSI and boy did I hit the jackpot! Matt (the owner) came out and we walked the entire area, looking at all the problem areas and what needed to be done. I had a definite vision of what I wanted the final product to look like, including color choices. Matt was excellent as we discussed the options – he “got” my vision.
On the morning we got started, Owen (Matt’s son) came out and we went over everything that needed to be done. Owen was great at finding all the little things that needed attention and even addressed removing an old cumbersome satellite dish and wiring from the side of the house, which I really appreciated. Luis and his team power washed the entire house before making repairs and then painting. Luis and the team are not only excellent craftsmen as painters, but also talented in making repairs. They not only fixed all the rotten wood, but also replaced some damaged wood steps leading down from the sunroom. It took the team only 4 days to transition my house from an old orangey color to a clean, bright, cheery house! They made my vision come true. I am so excited and happy with my “new” house. To me, it’s now a true “Southern” gem.
I don’t leave a lot of reviews, but when I’m fortunate enough to find and work with really good, talented people, I believe in sharing that experience with others. The folks at CRSI are really good at what they do. Everyone was excellent to work with. Whenever I had a question, they were only a phone call or text message away. “Liked them so much, we used them twice! We first heard about CRSI through an AM radio home repair show. In 2006 (or maybe it was 2007?), we decided to go with them to replace all of the windows in our 1948 house. We were a little concerned about this project as this is our first home, and the windows were the type with interior pulleys, some stuck shut while others were stuck open. Owner Joe Tichenor personally came out to give us the price quote on the windows, and shortly after we agreed to use them, the CRSI crew was at the house. Over the course of one day, they replaced all 16 windows with new ones that work(!), are easy to clean, and fit the style of the house. CRSI was easy to work with and delivered as promised, letting us know of any issues they came across. They were also really tidy, cleaning up the mess at the end of the day. Because of our positive experience with them, a few years later (2012) we decided to use them again when we became aware of a serious siding problem on the front of our house. During a storm, one of our shutters blew off, revealing a large area of totally rotten wood. We contacted CRSI to come out and give us a price quote for new vinyl siding all around the house, and asked them to also give a quote to paint the non siding area of the house and replace our terrible gutters while they were at it. The quote was so reasonable, we had them do it all. We have been very pleased with CRSI’s service and quality of work, and would strongly recommend them to others.”

“I have a 1600 sq. foot house and EVERYTHING in the house needed to be prepped, primed and painted. The walls, doors, ceiling, trim, and cabinets as well as the front porch and steps and white picket fence. My tenants had moved out and one had pained a mural in purple marker all over one wall in the bedroom and the closet and bathroom doors. My tenants had also done their own painting in outrageous colors throughout the house. My tenants also used those 3M hooks, the kind that are supposed to come off easily, but take the paper off the sheetrock when you take them off. Matt came out and met with me in June when I thought I was going to get this project done. For other reasons, it took me until December to get the house painted. Matt stayed in touch with me from the beginning calling about once a month to see if I was ready. When I was finally able to go forward with the project I gave Matt my timeline. Due to another job he had, he was three days late in starting the job, but I really was fine with it because I had kept him waiting for 6 months. He also finished 3 days early! I really want to complain about the price-I really do-but I can’t. The QUALITY of the materials they used, and the quality of the work they did are amazing. “I was about to give up on buying new windows this year. With other companies the prices were beyond ridiculous. Even the big box stores priced themselves out of the market. I found CRSI on Angies List and things turned around really fast. Matt McCurdy was great with walking me through the project, what I needed to know about the windows, and the options I had to consider. He didn’t oversell, over explain, and didn’t push.
Their window options are not the big name brands you see at the stores, but the product they sell is visibly superior and a far better value. We agreed on pricing and terms a couple days later. It took two weeks to get the windows ordered to the right specifications and then they came out and replaced nine double hung windows and four transom windows. The project was wrapped up by two in the afternoon. The work was excellent, you could see the quality, and the work was done right the first time. Not only do the windows look good, they made my home significantly cooler during the afternoon when the sun blasts the front of my house. Next year I’ll have them come back and replace the remainder of the windows.
On separate contracts I order a new basement door which will be installed next week and some repairs on a very large center hall window and doorway. We only had one minor problem with a door sill, but that was corrected immediately. As a footnote the cost of services I listed below was for the windows only. I am very glad I did business with CRSI and I will continue to use them for future projects. I believe you will enjoy your experience with them and highly recommend you give them a call.”

We had early 90’s LP siding on our house and decided it was finally time to replace it. Even a fresh coat of paint was not going to be enough to cover the degradation of the boards. We also had several window sills that were rotting and needed to be fixed, and of course everything needed to be painted. We got quotes from several siding companies and took awhile to decide, but ultimately CRSI was both the best price and the most “comfortable” choice for us.
Owner Matt McCurdy made us feel at-ease from the very start, which can be difficult when you’re talking about a costly project like siding. He gave us a very fair quote within 24 hours of coming out to the house, which we then sat on for nearly two months as we weren’t really in a hurry to get started. Matt followed up with us a couple times and we eventually decided to get the project underway with CRSI. I do not like being pressured by salespeople and was extremely grateful for Matt’s no pressure, easy-going attitude towards our project. He told us it would take about a week to a week and a half for the whole project to be completed, and he was right on the money. We were flabbergasted at how fast the siding went up, as well as how fast the main exterior paint was done. His crews were very efficient. We had a few issues with nail pops on our inside walls, and siding nails coming through our shower nooks where the inside of the nook is very close to the exterior walls, but as soon as we pointed them out to Matt he scheduled them to be fixed ASAP. These issues were corrected still within the original time scope of the project, which was impressive.
We’ve had several other home projects done where it felt like we had to nag the contractors endlessly to follow up on the last little remaining issues and it seemed like they had moved on to the next project and we were inconveniencing them. We didn’t feel that even once with CRSI. Overall, we were extremely pleased with the work done, the amount of time it took, and the professionalism and attitudes of Matt and his crew. We would absolutely recommend them to anyone looking to have siding, painting, or windows done.

Did have a few frustrating moments: crew showing up to paint when everything was too wet, inadequate scraping of old paint, priming with a blue paint+primer leftover from another job which I didn’t love but didn’t know about until it was done. Matt addressed everything we brought to his attention, but we did feel like we had to stay vigilant because he wasn’t around every day. Overall we were pleased, and the house looks great now.”

He came out quickly assessed the job and had a quote back to me in less than 24hrs. I received multiple quotes from multiple companies. His quote was very detailed with line item description and cost, he also provided a portfolio of recent work and testimonials.
After selecting them for the job they replaced all wood rot on the siding, trim, around the window seals etc. They painted(stained) the exterior of my house, all doors (including garage), and refinished my decks. I also had them install new gutters all the way around. The entire job took less than 5 business days (I think it was 3.5 to 4 full days). The crew did excellent quality work and was respectful to my yard etc cleaning up each day before leaving.

“Scheduled 3 weeks out due to their workload, but they started on the scheduled date and worked every day until the job was completed. Their work carried them past Friday, and CRSI asked if they could finish painting on Saturday, which they did. They cleaned up fully. There was siding that needed to be replaced in different areas. “We recently contracted CRSI to handle getting our house back in shape. Matt responded quickly to our inquiry, did a thorough inspection and provided a detailed proposal. We knew our 25 year old house was in need of wood rot repairs. He identified the areas needing work and gave us a very fair and competitive price. We were able to make an appointment to begin the project to start just a week later, which was important to accommodate our travel schedule. Matt and his crew chief Javier arrived promptly the scheduled Monday morning to begin. Javier’s team first removed our porch furniture, carefully covered the carpet and all sensitive plants were covered before they began to pressure wash. Javier and his helpers spent three long days doing a meticulous job repairing and replacing rotted trim around the house before painting. At the same time the painters began the painting of the soffits. This job was somewhat more challenging due to the size of the wooden screened porch vaulted to 15’+ ceiling height and house rear three+ stories tall. They had the ladders, skill (and nerve) to get to the highest spots. The project took 6 full days, 8am – 5pm. The crew was quiet, clean, pleasant and very responsive to questions, requests or suggestions. We will be calling Matt soon as we’re ready to have our interior done.”
